STEINERT has been successful in further boosting the effectiveness of modern, sensor-based sorting systems: With our new 3DS – the sensor that recognises three dimensions, down to just a few millimetres. Minerals can be identified based on their surface, optical properties analysed, and round objects differentiated from flat ones: Sorting ICW from chunks of metal or airbag containers from other metals or separating minerals of the same colour are just a few examples. The advantages are clear: improved sorting with greater product purity and optimal yield. In many cases, benefits also include a reduction in compressed air usage and increased throughput.
